I’ve been interested in model railroading for a long time. Â Since I was a kid. Â Recently, I’ve allowed myself to indulge in this hobby. Â Japan and Germany are the areas that interest me in model railroading. Â This is because the connection is personal and based on emotion: Â my wife is from Japan and when we visit, we ride the trains there — from local commuter trains to the Shinkansen bullet trains. Â So running model trains of Japan reinforces that connection and brings me back to Japan. Â I also lived in Germany a few times and rode lots of trains there as well. Â So running model trains of Germany and surrounding countries reminds me of the time I was there, and helps remind me that I want to go back and visit!
I started this blog to document and chronicle my involvement with N-Scale model railroading: Â as I learn, I share it, and hopefully the images, videos, how-to articles, and everything else I share will be of use to you.
How we make the videos and take the pictures for the blog, Instagram, YouTube, etc.:
The camera is a Sony A6300 mirrorless. This takes 4K video and shoots 24 MP stills with a very good APS-C sensor. The sensor is very good and low noise. We have some Godox remote flashes and umbrellas for still shots, and several LED light panels for illuminating scenes for video work. Editing is done on my Macs. Â I will be updating this page, or adding a new page, on how we make the videos and images we share, including our equipment, software, etc.
